Job Description

Our client, a financial company located in Boston that focuses on mutual funds is looking to hire an experienced Freelance Writer/Proofreader to work off-site (about 15 hours a week) on an on-going basis to write and proof hedge funds documents.

There will be an in-person interview as well as a writing test.

* 5+ years experience writing for the financial industry.

* Excellent proofreading and copyediting skills.

* Must be detail oriented and have the ability to meet quick deadlines.

Must submit resumes and have writing samples to be considered for this position.

We are looking for people who are motivated by word puzzles, spelling bees and attention to detail. As the work is done as an independent contractor completely from home, this is a great opportunity for stay-at-home parents, college students and anyone looking for a flexible work schedule. Work is available 24 hours a day.

You will be proofing the content of books for errors generated during our processing using an Internet browser-based interface. When you find an error, of which most will be marked for you - correct it to match the text in the picture of the page shown in the tool. Sometimes moving a sentence or entire paragraph will be necessary - whatever is needed, the tool will guide you.

Income averages between $7 and $12 per hour based on $0.12 per page. Your results will be dependant on speed, accuracy and focus. You will be presented with online training during registration, and will be able to refer back to the online tutorial if and when you have been accepted. We'll also provide web training and Q&A sessions to ensure you can be as good at this as possible - we want you to succeed!

We require that candidates have English as their primary, native language, have a high attention to detail, and a broadband Internet connection. We'll ask you to take a quick literacy test using our automated sign-up system when you click on the sign-up link below. Otherwise, advanced computer and English skills (such as proofreading or copyediting) will be benefits for going faster and making more money. Your personal computer system must have:

* A broadband Internet connection,
* Acrobat Reader (free from Adobe), and
* FireFox Internet Browser (free from Mozilla)
